Thank you very much for the opportunity given to myself to write a few words about my beloved batch. My batch is known as The Dolix aka Double Helix. Double Helix as from the view of medical stands for a helical, double stranded configuration normally referred to the DNA which is basis of all life form. Our batch is named so because it was the first batch to be divided into 2 subgroups of classes – Class A and B. The term ‘Double Helix’ is used to show that although we are divided into two different subgroups, we are always united to form one big family of similarly aimed students. The year of our enrollment to the university was 2002. Our battalion consists of 256 students including 23 fantastic Malaysians.

There are many golden moments we went through as a big batch in 6 years. Sweet or bitter, it was worth going through as we gained more experience and confidence as these moments pass-by our life. We enjoyed our medical camp in Nusa Penida Island and our final year post-graduate course in Kintamani was fun. But as Malaysians, we do have many unforgettable memories together. Our first achievement in the phase of medical studies happened as all of us passed our pre-clinical, our very first minor graduation/yudisium. We organized a dinner to share our joy with other Malaysian students in Bali.

We are always proud to be the Dolix batch as we have unity utmost and strings attached. For six wonderful years, we have been together united under one roof of Malaysian community. “Together we stand, divided we fall” ~ this saying suit us very well as we have proved that people from different background can achieve anything as long they are together. We hope our unity will continue until our last breath. Life in Bali was a good experience; shaped us well to be more matured and independent person. Through the University, we did not only gained knowledge but also shaped our attitude to be a well-mannered and respectful individual. I personally think that the said qualities built are actually the main aim of the medical studies. Gaining knowledge will never end even though we have graduated as doctors. PKPMI supplemented a different aspect of experience and knowledge to us. We learned leadership and togetherness through PKPMI.

To our batch mates, we would like to deliver our highest gratitude for all the help and support they have shown so far. We hope we will be friends forever. God bless us all always. To our lecturers, we would like to thank for the time and knowledge given to us as students. Keep up the good work. We love u all very much. The good name of Udayana University will always be upheld. To our beloved juniors, we would like to say – Always stick together as a batch and always up bring our Malaysian name no matter where you are. Attitude comes first, then knowledge. With great power, comes great responsibility. Once you become a doctor, do not forget the huge responsibility u carry with your name. Good luck for your future and may god be with you all always.
